Free ERISA. I didn’t know ERISA was in jail.
- - Andrew Zuckerman, responding to a question about why the IRS sent out letters from Odgen, Utah, requesting plan sponsors provide a copy of Form 5500 for 2004 as the IRS believes the plan sponsor did not file a 5500 for 2004 when a copy of the 2004 Form 5500 for that plan was available at FreeERISA.com.
With so little ERISA humor out there, I thought this ERISA humor was worth sharing.
I am blogging today from ASPPA’s Benefits Conference of the South in Atlanta. During one of the sessions today, Andrew Zuckerman said that the IRS may release the EGTRRA opinion/advisory letters for pre-approved prototypes and volume submitter plans on March 31, 2008. This means that March 31, 2008, would mark the beginning of the 2-year window to restate pre-approved prototypes and volume submitter plans onto EGTRRA documents.
