The IRS has released the 2007 list of interim and discretionary amendments for 2007. The amendments contained in the list are based on the 2006 Cumulative List.
In Rev. Proc. 2005-66, the IRS created a 5-year remedial amendment cycle for restating plans and submitting them for determination letters. Within this structure, the IRS included a requirement that plans are updated for a specific Cumulative List, to be published by the IRS each year. With the publication of the 2007 List of Interim and Discretionary Amendments, the IRS has provided a list of provisions based on the 2006 Cumulative List which plans can use to keep the plan document up-to-date between submission periods. For example, an individually designed Cycle A plan could use this list to review the plan provisions to make sure the plan is up-to-date with the 2006 Cumulative List.
