Some summaries of the Final 409A Regs:
- The law firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan has posted a 23-page summary in a Q&A format;
- The law firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll has posted a very short summary;
- The law firm of Paul Hastings has posted a red-lined version of the regulations. It is 173-page long which is not that long to scroll through to see how the regulations were changed; and
- Since 2005, Brad Feld has been blogging about the 409A regs. His point of view on the regs is about the impact on start-up companies and venture capital because the regs redefine the way companies determine fair market value in granting stock options.
